Alhoewel ons Vereniging steeds groei, bly ons toegewydheid tot integriteit en etiek steeds die hart van ons Vereniging.  Twee van ons Vereniging se kern waardes - eerlikheid en hardewerk “tussen die lyne” - het die toon aangegee vir ons etiese waardes en standaarde van gedrag soos omskryf in hierdie Gedragskode.

Een van die vele bates wat ons waardeer is dat, niks vergelyk met ons reputasie vir integriteit nie.  Ons reputasie voorsien ‘n platform vir toekomstige groei en sukses, en ons reputasie word beskerm deur te hou by hierdie Gedragskode.

Ons gedeelde etiese waarde:

Ons streef daarna om op te tree met ...............

* Integriteit - Ons streef voortdurend daarna om op te tree in ooreenstemming met ons etiese waardes.  Ons doel is om met enigeen met wie ons ‘n interaksie het, te laat besef dat ons standvastig staan in die navolg van die Gedragskode.

* Eerlikheid - Ons streef daarna om eerlik en reguit in ons aksies te wees en in ons verhouding met ander probeer ons om nooit af te dwaal van die waarheid vir doeleindes van ontwyking en misleiding nie.

* Vertroue en Sorg - Ons streef daarna om vertroue te vestig in andere sodat hulle op ons kan staat maak om die Gedragskode te eerbiedig.

* Respek en Regverdigheid - Ons streef daarna om bedagsaamheid en waardering te toon en om die waardigheid en voortreflikheid van elke individu te erken.

Ons voer ons werk uit .....................

* Met toegewydheid en Sorg -  Ons is toegewyd om ons werk na die beste van ons vermoë te doen.  Ons werk om ‘n uitstekende diens te lewer aan ons lede.  Ons streef daarna om ons werk akkuraat en betyds af te handel.

* Ter nakoming van Wette en Regulasies - Ons kom alle wette en regulasies, wat op ons van toepassing is, na.

* Aanneming van verantwoordelikheid en aanspreeklikheid - Ons doen verantwoording vir al ons aksies en interaktiwiteite en ons skram nie weg van die gevolge van daardie aksies en interaktiwiteite nie.  Ons is nougeset en eerbiedig ons verpligtinge.

* Demonstreer etiese leierskap - Deur ons leierskap op alle vlakke streef ons daarna om ons etiese waardes te behou en om ‘n Vereniging te volhou wat sodanige gedrag erken en waardeer.

Ons standaard van gedrag:

Ons kom Wette en Regulasies na:

* Ons is toegewyd om ons besigheid te bedryf in ooreenstemming met die toepaslike wette, reëls en regulasies.

Ons beskerm die omgewing en onderhou ‘n veilige en gesonde werksplek:

* Ons is toegewyd om alle omgewingswette en regulasies wat van toepassing is op die OEV, na te kom.

* Ons is toegewyd om ons werkplek veilig en gesond te hou.

* Om veiligheid te bevorder, verbied die OEV dreigende of geweldadige gedrag, of selfs net ‘n suggestie van sulke gedrag, teenoor ander.

* Die besit van vuurwapens, plofstof of enige ander wapens op enige plek waar besigheid gedoen word op die werksplek, is verbode.

* Opsetlike vernietiging van besigheidsareas en die omgewing is verbode.

* Die OEV verbied die misbruik van dwelms, beide wettig en onwettig, op die besigheidsperseel.

* Geen lid mag ‘n besigheid bedryf terwyl onder die invloed van drank of dwelms.

Ons bevorder ‘n positiewe werksomgewing:

* Respekteer diversiteit - Ons heg waarde aan en verlang diversiteit in ons lede, repekteer hul verskille en erken die bydrae van individue.  Ons is toegewyd daartoe om alle lede, werknemers, klante, voorsieners en ander met respek en waardigheid te behandel.

* Besigheidsperseel teistering - Ons is toegewyd om die persele te onderhou waar lede besigheid doen, en waar hulle hul pligte en verantwoordelikheid sonder teistering kan verrig.  Teistering is ‘n offensiewe gedrag wat ‘n lid op ‘n negatiewe manier kan uitsonder as gevolg van hulle ras, geslag, godsdiens, land van oorsprong, ouderdom, ongeskiktheid of seksuele oriëntasie.

Ons bly weg van Botsende Belange:

* Komiteelde het ‘n lojaliteitsplig teenoor die OEV en mag nie hul posisies gebruik om ‘n onbehoorlike wins te maak of ander te help om ‘n onbehoorlike wins te maak ten koste van die ander lede nie.  ‘n Botsing van belange ontstaan enige tyd wanneer die persoonlike belange van ‘n lid inmeng met die belange van die OEV. 

* Lede moet die OEV se eiendom en belange beskerm en moet selfs net die voorkoms dat hul aksies nie in die beste belang van die Vereniging is nie, vermy.

* Geskenke - Geskenke, maaltye en onthale is algemene welwillendheidsgebare wat veronderstel om goedgesindheid en gladde werksverhoudings te bou.  Dit is egter streng verbode aangesien dit mag lyk asof dit die gesonde oordeel en die bekwaamheid om regverdige en objektiewe besluite te neem, in die wiele kan ry.

* Omkopery - Die ontvangs en die gee van enige omkoopgeld, beïnvloedingsbetaling, omkopery of onwettige betaling wat gedoen word om gunstige en voorkeur behandeling te verseker, is streng verbode.

Ons onderhou akkurate en volledige rekords:

* Boeke en Rekords - Die Wet vereis van die OEV om akkurate en betroubare besighedisrekords voor te berei en te onderhou.  Sulke rekords is krities belangrik in die OEV se besluitnemingsprosesse en om die finansiële en wetlike prosedures behoorlik na te kom.  Ons moet alle finansiële en ander besigheidsrekords, insluitend werksbestellings, uitgawe rekeninge, aankope bestellings, rekwisisies, rekenings, boeke en rekords, met sorg en eerlikheid voorberei om te verseker dat inligting wat aan die owerhede en die lede voorsien word, volledig, akkuraat, betyds en verstaanbaar is.

* Rekordbestuur - Die OEV se rekords en notules is belangrike bates.  Rekords sluit essensiëel in alle essensiële geskrewe, aangetekende stukke of dokumente wat ingehandig word deur lede, ongeag die formaat.

Ons gaan regverdig om met ander:

* Alle lede moet daarna streef om regverdig om te gaan met werknemers, verskaffers, kompeteerders en met ander.  Niemand moet probeer om voordeel te trek uit enigeen deur middel van manipulasie, geheimhouding, misbruik van bevoorregte inligting, verdraaiing van wesenlike feite of enige ander onregverdige handelinge of praktyke nie.

Ons kompeteer regverdig:

* Ons streef daarna om regverdige en volledige kompetisie tussen lede van die OEV, te bevorder.

Ons beskerm die Vereniging se bates:

* Beskerming van die OEV se hulpbronne - Ons sal daarna streef om die OEV se bates en hulpbronne behoue te laat bly en te beskerm en om die effektiwiteit daarvan te bevorder.  Diefstal, roekeloosheid en vermorsing het ‘n direkte impak op die OEV se winsgewindheid.

OEV Naam en Logo:

Die naam en logo van die OEV is waardevolle bates en die beskerming daarvan is belangrik vir die sukses van die Vereniging.  Vir daardie rede, mag ons die naam en logos alleenlik gebruik vir besigheidsbetrekkinge met die OEV.

Beveiliging van Privaatheid en Vertroulikheid :

* Ons moet die vertroulikheid van alle inligting wat deur lede van die OEVaan ons toevertrou word, behoue laat bly.  Vertroulike inligting sluit in alle nie-publieke inligting wat ‘n nadelige effek mag hê op die lede indien dit openbaar gemaak sou word.  Alle inligting wat verkry of gebruik word ter ondersteuning van die Vereniging se sake aktiwiteite is die eiendom van die OEV.  Daarom moet alle redelike stappe geneem word om die vertroulike inligting te beveilig teen opsetlike openbaarmaking.

* Ons sal alle vertroulike ooreenkomste soos vereis deur die OEV, nakom.

Ons rapporteer oortredings van die Gedragskode:

* Indien ons bewus word van ‘n moontlike of werklike oortreding van hierdie Gedragskode, moet ons dit rapporteer.  Versuim om dit te doen is ‘n oortrediing van hierdie kode.  Lede wie in goedertrou moontlike oortredings aanmeld, mag so doen sonder vrees vir weerwraak.  Die Komitee sal nie weerwraak van enige aard teen lede wie moontlike Gedragskode oortredings in goedertrou aanmeld, duld nie.

Ons ondersoek en neem gepaste optrede:

* Die Komitee ondersoek alle aanmeldings van moontlike ootredings van die Gedragskode.

* Lede wie nie hierdie Gedragskode of ander beleide en prosedures van die OEV nakom nie, sal gedissiplineer word.

Wysigings en weglatings:

* Alleenlik die Voorsitter en die Komitee van die OEV mag hierdie Gedragskode wysig.  Alleenlik die Voorsitter en die Komitee mag enige weglatings van die Gedragskode vir enige van die OEV se lede, goedkeur.

Sertifisering:

* Alle lede en Komiteelede sal ‘n sertifisering onderteken dat hulle ‘n afskrif van die Gedragskode ontvang het en dat hulle die Gedragskode sal nakom en dat hulle alle oortredings van die Gedragskode sal aanmeld indien hulle daarvan bewus word.

Even though our Association continues to grow, our commitment to integrity and ethics remains at the very heart of our Organization. Two of our Association's core values - honesty and working "within the lines" set the tone for our ethical values and standards of conduct described in this Code of Conduct.

Of the many assets we value, none compares to our reputation for integrity. Our reputation provides a platform for future growth and success, and so living by this Code of Conduct protects our reputation.

•   Trust and Caring - We strive to install confidence in others that they may rely upon us to honour this Code of Conduct.

Our Standards of Conduct


We Comply with Laws and Regulations

•   We are committed to conduct our business in accordance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.

We Protect the Environment and Maintain a Safe and Healthy Work Area.

•  We are committed to complying with all environmental laws and regulations that apply to the OEV.

•   We are committed to making our work area safe and healthy.

•   To promote safety, the OEV prohibits threatening or violent behaviour, or even the suggestion of such behaviour, towards others

•   The possession of firearms, explosives or any other weapons anywhere on trade and work areas is prohibited.

•   Wilful destruction of trading areas and surrounds are prohibited

•   The OEV prohibits the misuse of drugs, both legal and illegal while on trading premises

•  No member may conduct business while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

We
Promote a Positive Work Environment

•   Respecting Diversity - We value and seek diversity in our members, respect their differences, and recognize contribution of individuals. We are committed to treating all members, employees, customers, suppliers and others with respect and dignity.

•   Trading Areas Harassment. - We are committed to maintaining areas where members can trade and perform their duties and responsibilities without being harassed. Harassment is offensive conduct that singles out a member in a negative way because of their race, colour, gender, religion, national origin, age, disability or sexual orientation.
We Steer Clear of Conflicts of Interest

•  Committee Members owe a duty of loyalty to the OEV and may not use their positions to improperly profit or to assist others in improperly profiting at the expense of the Members. A "conflict of interest" exists any time the personal interests of a member interferes with the interests of the OEV. Members should protect the OEV's

•   Property and interests and avoid even the appearance that their actions are not in the best interests of the Association.

•   Gifts - Gifts, meals and entertainment are common courtesies intended to build goodwill and sound working relationships. However, this is strictly prohibited, as this may seem to compromise the sound judgement or the ability to make fair and objective decisions.

•   Bribery - The giving and receiving of any bribe, influence payment, kickback or unlawful payment designed to secure favoured or preferential treatment is strictly prohibited.
We Maintain Accurate and Complete Records

•   Books and Records - The law requires the OEV to prepare and maintain accurate and reliable business records. Such records are critically important to the OEV's decision-making processes and to the proper discharge of the financial and legal obligations. We must prepare all financial and other business records, including work orders, expense accounts, purchase orders, requisitions, bills, books and records with care and honesty to assure that information provided to authorities and members is full, fair accurate, on time and understandable.

•   Records management - The OEV's records and minutes are important assets. Records include essentially every writing, recording or document produced by members, regardless of its format.

We
Deal Fairly with Others:

•  All members should strive to deal fairly with employees, suppliers, competitors and each other. No one should take advantage of anyone through manipulation, concealment, abuse of privileged information, misrepresentation of material facts or any other unfair dealings or practices.
We Compete Fairly

•  We wish to promote full and fair competition between members of the OEV.

We Protect Association Assets:

•  Protecting OEV Resources - We will strive to preserve and protect the OEV's assets and resources and to promote their efficient use. Theft, carelessness and waste have a direct impact on the OEV's profitability.
OEV Name and Logo

•   The name and logo of the OEV are valuable assets and their protection is vital to the success of the Association. For that reason, we may use the name and logos only for business dealing with OEV business.
Safeguarding Privacy and Confidentiality

•   We must maintain the confidentiality of all information entrusted to us by the members of the OEV. Confidential information includes all non-public information that might be of use or harmful to its members, if disclosed. All information created or used in support of the Association's business activities is the property of the OEV. Therefore all reasonable steps must be taken to safeguard confidential information against inadvertent disclosure.

•  We will comply with any confidentiality agreements required by the OEV.

We Report Code of Conduct Violations:

•   When we become aware of a possible or actual violation of this Code of Conduct, we must report it. Failure to do so is a violation of this very Code. Members who, in good faith, report possible violations may do so without fear of retaliation.

•  The Committee will not tolerate retaliation of any kind against members who report possible Code of Conduct violations in good faith

We Investigate and Take Appropriate Action:

•  The Committee investigates all reports of possible violations of the Code of Conduct.

•  Members, who do not comply with this Code of Conduct, or with other OEV policies and procedures, may be disciplined.
Amendments and Waivers

•  Only the Chairman and the Committee of the OEV may amend this Code of Conduct. Only the Chairman and the Committee may approve any waiver of the Code of Conduct for any of OEV's members.
Certification

•  All members and Committee members will sign a certification stating they have received a copy of the Code of Conduct, that they will comply with the Code of Conduct, and that they will report all violations of the Code of Conduct of which they become aware.
